Peer Pressure

So I've given in to peer pressure and moved to Blogger.  This site will remain here so I can leave comments for others, but don't be surprised if the updates slow to a crawl that makes the current pace look like a waterfall.

Hear ye, hear ye!

On Monday, March 20th, at 5:49pm, Garrett David Welch made his official entrance into the world.  He weighed 8lbs. 7oz. and measured 21 inches long.  Some pictures are available for your viewing pleasure!

If for some reason, you are unable to access MySpace (not entirely a bad thing ... there's a bunch of crap out there if you stumble into the wrong place), try here instead:  http://www.purevolume.com/toddagnew

Steppin' right up to the microphone ...

Hi, my name is Matt, and I'm a slacker.  I have not updated my site in over 3 months.  I warned you that my life isn't very exciting!

Not a whole lot going on around here ... we're busy trying to get the nursery ready for Garrett's imminent arrival ... we've got walls to paint, Red Sox stuff to get framed and matted, and furniture to arrange.  We have a bunch of Sox stuff we'd like to order eventually... but we're going to start with what we have for now, and build on it as time and money allow.  In fact, I should be upstairs painting right now ... so I better get to it.

While I'm doing that, if you haven't heard the song "My Jesus" by Todd Agnew, go here to check it out ... http://www.myspace.com/toddagnew ... even if the music style isn't your favorite, suffer through it once to listen to the words... it's a great song.  If you are already a Todd Agnew fan, he will be playing in Hot Springs on April 22nd.

Been a while ... I'm still in shock from CAC losing to Mayflower ... sure, it didn't cost them anything ... they had already guaranteed themselves home field advantage throughout the playoffs ... but as a result, they have to share the conference title with PA (which is stupid by the way, since PA's loss was to CAC... that should be a tie breaker).  Whatever Mayflower did to stop us, Mena couldn't duplicate as CAC won their first round playoff game by a final score of 45-6.  Newport travels to Mustang Mountain this Friday for round 2 ... unfortunately, we'll be on our way out of town.  It will be broadcast live on KASR 92.7 FM ... maybe I'll catch some of it before we're out of range.

Have to give big time props to Natick High ... they kept their eyes on the prize and have come down to the last game of the season sitting pretty at 10-0.  Hopefully they won't pull a CAC.  ;)  In the "Bodes Well for the Future" department, the JV and Freshmen teams will be trying to put the finishing touches on their own undefeated seasons this Friday at Framingham.  An incredible job by the coaching staff and the players all the way around.  Last week, with a win over Milton, the varsity squad clinched their division title and guaranteed their spot in the Division 2 playoffs for the first time in 20 years ... a.k.a. when Coach Lamb left Natick for Northeastern University.  We'll be in attendance next Thursday when Natick plays Thanksgiving Day rival Framingham at home. I'm getting excited already!
